Maya crossed the seashore hauling her worn body into the forest. Leaning on one of the old cedar trees she tried to catch her breathing only to discover it was coming in heavy pants. She turned back to look at the sea. Not a sight of the ship nor any demon following her trail. But she couldn't stop here. Not anymore.
She had to find a place to keep her warm even if it was for a short while. A cave would suffice on this isolated Island. Her powers were draining. She needed time to heal. And food. But for that first, she needed a place to shelter from the rain.
